Subject: Urgent Investigation Requested – Repeated Animal Cruelty in Varthur
Text: Dear Authorities,
I am writing to express my deep concern regarding a series of horrific acts of animal cruelty recently reported in Varthur, Bengaluru.
A couple of weeks ago, I was horrified to view footage showing the brutal abuse of a community dog known as Motu. The footage depicted Motu suspended by his neck from a tree while a male individual relentlessly struck him with a piece of timber, appearing to derive enjoyment from the suffering he was inflicting.
I understand that a First Information Report (FIR) was subsequently lodged.
Since Motu’s case, further reports have emerged of community dogs in the same area suffering significant injuries from alleged abuse. Most recently, on 30 October 2026, another community dog reportedly died as a result of abuse.
The fact that these incidents have occurred within approximately ten days, in the same geographical area, is deeply alarming. It is disturbing to consider that such extreme violence and cruelty may be occurring repeatedly and seemingly unchecked.
I respectfully urge authorities to ensure that FIRs are registered for all reported incidents, where this has not already occurred, including the most recent case of 30 October.
I further request that these incidents be thoroughly investigated, including whether any connection exists between them, and that those responsible are identified and held accountable under the law.
The repeated violence against vulnerable community animals demands urgent attention and decisive action to prevent further suffering and loss of life.
Thank you for your attention to this deeply concerning matter.
Yours sincerely,
A Concerned Global Citizen
